Frequently Asked Questions

What is our Endocannabinoid System (ECS) and how does it relate to CBD and other cannabinoids?

CBD, is short for Cannabidiol. It is a plant-cannabinoid (phytocannabinoid) found in the flower and leaves of the Hemp plant. Many confuse Hemp Seed Oil for CBD, but this is not the same thing. Hemp Seed Oil comes from the seeds/grain of the Hemp plant. In the end of the 20th century our Endocannabinoid System or ECS, was uncovered after decades of deliberate investigation by researchers who wanted to know more about how phytocannabinoids work in relation to our own body-made-cannabinoids (endocannabinoids).

Our ECS is a messenger system or switchboard, acting and reacting to internal and external stimuli such as signals of pain, stress, and/or inflammation. Our ECS processes those signals and assists our bodies in correcting itself in order to be balanced again. It does this through a complex process by producing endocannabinoids.

Research has found that plants like Hemp that contain phytocannabinoids, directly mimic our human body endocannabinoids. This makes phytocannabinoids super helpful in assisting our ECS System in therapeutic, promising, and healing ways.

If our body already produces its own cannabinoids, why would I supplement with phytocannabinoids?
Our ECS system is constantly affected and vulnerable by our modern day lives. Emotional stress, consuming unhealthy foods, the overuse of prescription pills, modern environmental toxins and pollutants can lead to developing chronic illnesses and the weakness of our ECS system. When your ECS is not healthy you may develop ECS system dysfunction where your body is out of balance.

Caring for ourselves to restore and balance our ECS system is essential to our overall health. Incorporating phytocannabinoids, such as CBD can be therapeutic in restoring and rebalancing your ECS system and your overall health.

Will CBD make me high?

No! CBD will NOT make you high. Unlike THC which is the psychoactive cannabinoid, CBD is a NON-psychoactive cannabinoid found in the Hemp plant. All Sweetwater products follow regulations and contain less than 0.3% THC. A note of caution: Even though this product does contain LEGAL levels of THC, with regular use you could still have a positive urine test due to outdated test methods and lack of research.

How are your products tested?

Every step of our extraction process is tested. From the time biomass comes into the warehouse to the oil, we use both onsite and third-party lab testing to provide high quality production. In addition, each batch of our Sweetwater Full Spectrum Oils undergo a full panel of testing by a third-party ISO-17025 certified lab and are guaranteed to be free of or well below the average cannabis regulations for contaminants like heavy metals, bacteria, microbial life, mycotoxins, pesticides and more. What makes Sweetwater products superior when compared to competitors?

Product purity is not just dependent on high quality strains, but also the extraction process and cutting edge equipment. At Sweetwater Hemp Company, we use a solvent-free, reverse osmosis pure ice-water extraction method to create a product with increased bioavailability, or absorption of cannabinoids, providing the ideal therapeutic values for the consumer.

The majority of other extraction methods use equipment and processes that often lose or completely destroy the natural terpenes of Hemp. This is a common pitfall to the therapeutic effects of many product currently on the market. Sweetwater Hemp Company uses the latest extraction technology to assure maximum conservation of terpenes in the extraction process.

What states do you ship to?

The 2018 Farm Bill allows us to legally sell across all 50 states. However, please note that our online payment processor currently DOES NOT allow us to sell online to the following states: Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, New Hampshire and South Dakota.

If you happen to be located in one of these states, we CAN still place your order if you contact us directly by emailing us with the subject line “ORDER-” followed by your State. Due to this inconvenience, we are giving an additional 5% off every order you place with us if you live in any of the above states. We hope in the near future we can allow these states through our website.

How much CBD should I be taking daily?

This will depend on your endocannabinoid system and what you are targeting for. The best way to begin is to start off small and work your way up to your optimal dosage. For example, you might consider starting your dose in the evening at one mL of our 250mg full spectrum oil (8.33mg of CBD) or one of our 10mg gummies. Note: some people find CBD to be relaxing while others find it makes them more alert. Take it when it helps you the most! After a few days, if you aren’t feeling the desired effects, you might consider increasing the dosage and/or taking a dose two or three times throughout the day. It can take some time to find what works best for you so don’t get discouraged!

What is the difference between our 250mg and 3000mg full spectrum oil bottle?

Our products are labeled by the number of milligrams of total CBD present in a single bottle. So we have a range of products to fit both your needs and your budget. Our prices are more economical as CBD increases so you get more milligrams of CBD per dollar in the 3000mg (21.4mg/$) vs the 250mg (6.25mg/$). Someone budget constrained might still choose our lower CBD PLUS you will get to switch flavors more often. However, those that need to take a larger dosage will go through CBD faster and might want to find a bottle that fits both budget and dosage.
